Our Commitment To safety

Our Commitment To Safety

At TJA Civil, the safety of our staff, contractors and members of the public is paramount at all times. We have set of values that are not negotiable. Every person that works or represents our company adheres to these rules, enabling us to complete quality work on time and to everyone’s satisfaction

Our Safety Values

  • Every worker will work to find a solution that prevents injury.
  • When manual handling is involved, the worker will lift the load appropriately to protect their back.
  • Care will be exercised at all times when working with tools.
  • No one will place themselves, or anyone else, underneath a suspended load during a mechanical lifting operation.
  • Only those who are authorised to do so will work on live electrical circuits.
  • If there is any chance of energy release, the worker will always isolate.
  • If the nature of the work necessitates working above 1.8 metres, the worker will always use fall arrest equipment.

Our Responsibility to our Workers and our Customers

The management at CJA Civil takes responsibility for ensuring a safe and healthy workplace. Our employees, suppliers, contractors and subcontractors are responsible for ensuring their own safety and that of others by adhering to our health and safety policy. Our WHS management system is based on the requirements of AS4801.

  • We work to eliminate or control risk, reduce injury and control hazards.
  • We train all employees in hazard awareness to comply with legislative requirements.
  • We provide our employees with the appropriate protective clothing and equipment.
  • We encourage employees to attend work-based informative sessions to develop their safety awareness.
  • We set goals and objectives during the Strategic Planning meeting. These goals are monitored, and we review them regularly.
  • We consult employees on matters concerning their workplace.
  • Clients are responsible for ensuring worksites are safe for our employees to perform their tasks.

Integration with Management Systems

So that all relevant members of staff can access the tools required to implement our health and safety policy, our safety and quality requirements are integrated within our management systems. Any member of our team that wishes to know more can access our CORE Safety Values within our Quality-WHS&E Manual.

Here at TJA Civil, we are proud of our health and safety record to date. We will continue to monitor and improve procedures for the safety of our workers and anyone who needs to access our worksite. Get in touch with us to find out more.
